Wietse Wind is the founder of Xaman (formerly Xumm/XRPL Labs). He was born in Amersfoort, the Netherlands in 1988. At the age of 14, he wrote an Oracle database-driven web application for one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands. At the age of 16, he founded his first company, Internet Publications, which provides content management systems, web-based software development hosting and customization. In 2006, he studied information science at the University of Amsterdam, but dropped out to focus on iPublications software development, providing specific interfaces and business logic for medium-sized to large companies and multinational companies. Wietse accidentally discovered the XRP distributed ledger technology. So he began to participate in the XRP community and founded XRPL Labs, focusing on writing and publishing open source libraries and popular applications on the XRP ledger.
