CoinFlipについて

CoinFlip is a crypto ATM operator founded in Chicago in 2015 that runs one of the world's largest cryptocurrency terminal networks by transaction volume, with more than 5,500 two-way kiosks across 49 US states, Puerto Rico and countries including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy and Spain, accepting cash, cards and bank transfers for assets such as bitcoin, ether, litecoin and USDC. It targets the entry barrier for cash-based and underbanked users who have no brokerage account and no habit of trading apps but are comfortable with a machine in a convenience store. Beyond kiosks, CoinFlip operates the CoinFlip Preferred OTC desk (wire, ACH and Interac settlement) and the CoinFlip Wallet self-custody mobile app, with round-the-clock human support.

Among crypto on-ramps, CoinFlip's division of labor is the offline cash entrance, complementing online exchanges that serve banked active traders. Its kiosk network, wallet and OTC desk form a product ladder: users can start at a terminal and graduate to self-custody for holding assets. In July 2026 CoinFlip publicly backed New Zealand's regulatory approach to crypto ATMs over an outright ban, a reminder that its footprint is directly shaped by local policy, a structural feature of hardware-based distribution that online platforms do not carry.

In July 2026 CoinFlip obtained a MiCAR licence, allowing it to offer crypto-asset services under the EU's harmonised framework; over the same period it acquired business assets out of Bitcoin Depot's bankruptcy estate, after that operator filed Chapter 11 in the Southern District of Texas on May 17 and took its BTM network offline.

Regulatory pressure rose in parallel: in May 2026 Missouri's attorney general sued CoinFlip for allegedly facilitating fraudulent transactions, seeking $1.83 million and an injunction against operating in the state, which the company called baseless, and at the end of June a federal court declined to pause Tennessee's crypto ATM ban before it took effect on July 1. CoinFlip runs more than 5,500 machines across 48 US states and several countries, serving over 500,000 users.

Future strategy and roadmap: CoinFlip intends to offset US state-level bans with its EU licence and acquisitions, operating ATMs, an OTC desk and a wallet as three channels, and to invest further in identity verification, real-time fraud detection and refund processes to win regulatory acceptance and retail partnerships.
