GIWAについて
GIWA is an Ethereum layer 2 built on the OP Stack by Dunamu, the parent of Upbit, using ETH for fees with one-second blocks and a 60 million gas limit, compatible with EVM tooling so Solidity contracts deploy directly; the design routes fee payment through a Paymaster so users can pay in stablecoins, and brings exchange balances and self-custody wallets into one view. It targets the friction Korean users meet in on-chain apps around fees and address management: transactions are ordered on the L2, batched and submitted to Ethereum for settlement, while fiat and stablecoin conversion runs through licensed channels.
Among exchange-backed chains it sits close to Base and BNB Chain, differentiated by issuing no token of its own, handing sequencing to Upbit and joining the self-managed tier of Optimism's OP Enterprise; in May 2026 the two signed a memorandum making GIWA the first chain under that tier. Ordering and block production rest with a single party, and in September a counterfeit network reusing its chain ID 9134 drained about 766 ETH through a fake bridge.
2025年9月、GIWAテストネット（Giwa Sepolia）が1秒のブロックタイムでローンチされ、高速かつ低コストのEthereum Layer 2インフラを提供することを目指しました。 2026年4月、チームはOP Stackエコシステムの移行に伴い、実行クライアントをop-gethからop-rethに移行することを発表し、Karstハードフォークでkona-clientに移行する計画を立て、長期的なノードサポートを確保するとしています。
過去6ヶ月間の主要なGIWA Chainの進捗状況：2026年5月4日、Upbitの親会社であるDunamuは、Consensus MiamiにてOptimism Foundationと覚書（MoU）を締結し、GIWA ChainをOP EnterpriseのSelf-Managed層における最初のチェーンとして計画した。Upbitがプライマリシーケンサーを運営し、Foundationがバックアップとモニタリングを提供する。5月31日より、op-gethのサポートが終了し、ノードのop-rethへの移行が必要となった。Fault Proofプログラムはop-programからkona-clientへ移行した。7月6日、テストネット（Sepolia）でKarstハードフォーク（Upgrade 19）がアクティブ化され、Osaka EVM機能、L2CMコントラクト管理メカニズム、OPCMv2、CANNON_KONAディスピュートゲームタイプが導入された。エコシステムは、Giwa Wallet、Dojangオンチェーン認証、Bojagiプライバシープロトコル、UP.IDネーミングサービス、GASOK開発者サポートプログラムを立ち上げた。今後の焦点：メインネットのローンチ、Karstメインネットアップグレード、L2CMによるインターオペ相互運用性、グローバルな開発者エコシステムの拡大。
