OpenZeppelinについて

On September 17, 2026 S&P Global announced an agreement to acquire OpenZeppelin, terms undisclosed and subject to closing conditions. OpenZeppelin will operate as its own business unit, with co-founder Demian Brener staying as chief executive and reporting to Yann Le Pallec, president of S&P Global Ratings. The stated rationale is that onchain finance is moving from an emerging market into core financial infrastructure: the contract libraries have carried $37 trillion in value transfers, most of the largest stablecoins and tokenised money market funds are built on them, and the firm has run more than 900 security engagements, surfacing over 10,000 vulnerabilities before production.
OpenZeppelin's position on the open-source question developers care about is that the libraries stay free and publicly maintained, every released version remains permanently open source and cannot be withdrawn, and audits and engineering work continue with the same team and standards. Three days earlier S&P Global had led an expansion of Kaiko's Series B to $110 million; read together, a ratings agency is assembling both the data that prices an asset and the code that issues and moves it.
OpenZeppelin folds smart contract risk into ratings methodology, expands continuous security programmes for banks, asset managers and payment networks, and keeps open standards compatible with institutional compliance.
