PancakeSwap is a decentralized exchange on BNB Chain and other networks that uses an automated market maker model, letting users swap tokens, provide liquidity and join yield activities. It is known for low fees and broad token coverage.
The project offers swaps, liquidity pools, farms and lottery modules and coordinates incentives through its governance token. Emphasizing composability, ease of use and community governance, it serves BNB ecosystem and multi-chain users and keeps expanding products and chain support, making it one of the largest and most widely used protocols in decentralized trading.

On October 21, 2026, voting opened on The Flip, a proposal to raise LPs' share of swap fees on V3 and Infinity pools from 66–68% to 88% while cutting daily CAKE emissions from 22,500 to 7,000 tokens (about -69%); the vote runs to October 24 with implementation in November if passed, and TVL had already risen nearly 19% to $2.4 billion in the prior week as V3 pool assets more than doubled.
On October 2 PancakeSwap Infinity passed $150 billion in cumulative volume, about $37 billion more than the $113 billion mark a year earlier; September burns of 2.96 million CAKE against 652,564 minted extended net deflation to 37 consecutive months. A Pre-Access Portal launched on September 20 offering pre-IPO tokenized exposure to private companies; LP fee share on Robinhood Chain rose to 90%; Binance's bStocks tokenized equities passed $1 billion in mid-October, with PancakeSwap providing onchain trading since June. PancakeSwap's Future strategy and roadmap: The Flip is not really about issuance; it moves value capture away from V3. With LP share raised to 88% and the remaining 12% going to the team treasury, V3 — the volume engine — no longer spends fees on buybacks and burns, leaving net deflation to V2 and its 23% burn. PancakeSwap still holds about 76% of BSC and roughly USD 23.8 billion of 30-day volume, but aggregators own routing and capital follows depth and slippage, so it would rather trade cash flow for retained market-making capital. With 7,000 daily CAKE routed to the Pantry, growth and ecosystem incentives merge into one budget, and the test is whether it buys markets beyond V3. For CAKE holders, a scarcity narrative has replaced a cash-flow one — the least noticed cost of the vote.
