StarkNetについて
StarkNet is an Ethereum ZK Rollup built by StarkWare, scaling Ethereum for developers and users with STARK proofs. It addresses Ethereum's high transaction cost and limited throughput by compressing many transactions into verifiable proofs via a ZK proof system, then committing them to Ethereum through a decentralized sequencer and Rollup architecture. Its Shinobi phase adds protocol-level proof verification and a privacy standard, and brings wrapped BTC into consensus to help secure the network.
In October 2026 Starknet indicated it is considering leaving Ethereum to become a standalone L1 and is making a quantum-resistant network its core direction. The network does not burn fees and has no buyback, while ongoing unlocks and issuance add supply pressure, and its fit is developers valuing ZK privacy and BTCFi, though technical progress and token performance have long diverged.

On April 21, 2026 the Shinobi upgrade, v0.14.2, introduced the native privacy primitive SNIP-36, laying the groundwork for confidential balances and private transfers; v0.14.4 followed on October 5-6, letting eligible applications submit a proof covering a full block's computation in a single transaction, up to 1.1 billion layer-two gas. From October 2 bridging fees were waived for the first 100 BTC and a weekly strkBTC faucet of about $833 was opened.
With the incentives stacked together, STRK rose about 47% in a week to $0.058 and reached roughly $0.12 on October 12, up more than 300% in a month; more than 800 million STRK is staked and TVL has doubled since BTCFi Season began. Validators must stake at least 20,000 STRK, bitcoin assets can participate in staking while STRK retains 75% of the weight, and initial staking inflation is capped below 1.6%.
StarkNet's Future strategy and roadmap: On 22 October, holders with 93.52% of voting power backed a non-binding poll to research leaving Ethereum settlement and becoming an independent post-quantum layer 1; StarkWare abstained and a whitepaper draft is due in November. That shifts StarkNet's competitive coordinates: rather than contesting throughput with cheap rollups, it competes for control of its own cryptography timetable by targeting a post-quantum migration in 2027, ahead of Ethereum's 2029, at the cost of running its own validator set and security budget. On economics, decentralised block validation under Staking v3 and fee reform must turn STRK from a governance ticket into an asset validators have to hold; settlement flows from privacy and strkBTC are the practical test of whether the independent path holds.
