BitSharesについて
BitShares is an early blockchain project using delegated proof of stake, describing itself as self-governed with roughly three-second block times and a built-in decentralised financial platform. Its technical features include a decentralised asset exchange, dynamic account permissions, industrial performance and scalability, transferable named accounts, price-stable cryptocurrencies, recurring and scheduled payments, a referral programme and user-issued assets.
Operated by the Move Institute in Slovenia and dating back to 2014, the project offers a wallet interface, a block explorer, documentation and download entry points, plus a custodian DEX called XBTS and forums. Its overall positioning is a decentralised financial infrastructure centred on user-issued assets and on-chain trading, and stresses bringing traditional financial assets on-chain through user-issued assets while keeping referral and community incentives to widen adoption.
As of October 2026, BTS trades near $0.0011 with a market capitalization of roughly $3.5 million and less than $100,000 in daily volume across 59 aggregated markets; after Binance delisted BTS in December 2023, liquidity concentrated on a handful of venues such as MEXC, Gate and LATOKEN.
On the development side, BitShares' latest core release remains 7.0.3, whose changes only rebuild the Docker image and pull in operating system patches, with no consensus or feature changes; the 8.0.0 protocol upgrade milestone, originally due November 30, 2024, was only about one sixth complete by October 2026 (2 of 12 issues). The community still funds interfaces and tooling through worker proposals, with a development proposal for an Astro-based DEX front end under discussion.
BitShares's Future strategy and roadmap: publicly discussed directions include advancing the 8.0 protocol upgrade, adding EVM wrapped BTS, and rebuilding the DEX interface and developer documentation; most remain at the proposal stage, constrained by funding and developer bandwidth, with no clear delivery schedule for 2026.
BitShares charges a flat per-order trading fee on its DEX regardless of trade size, and its official site states that a $1,000 trade costs less than 1 cent.
BitShares refunds 90% of the fee when an unfilled order is cancelled, with the refund paid in BTS.
