Fogoについて
Fogo is an SVM Layer1 built for trading rather than general-purpose compute, founded by veterans of Jump Crypto and Citadel and aimed at trading applications extremely sensitive to latency and throughput. Most general-purpose Layer1s spread validators globally, so block production and confirmation suffer from network latency; Fogo uses a custom Firedancer client and a high-performance consensus with co-located validators, compressing block time to about 40 milliseconds and peaking above one hundred thousand TPS in tests. The network executes business logic on the Solana virtual machine with low-latency ordering and settlement, and ships with about ten applications such as Ambient and Valiant, letting onchain order books and high-frequency strategies run at near-centralised-exchange latency.
Extreme performance comes from the centralisation trade-off of co-located validators, with geographic and operational concentration and weaker censorship resistance and disaster recovery than dispersed networks; in August 2026 the Fogo Foundation was compromised, about 400 million FOGO were moved out, and the mainnet halted for roughly 46 hours before restarting and recovering part of the tokens.

Fogo's public mainnet launched on January 15, 2026 on an SVM stack with the Firedancer client, about 40-millisecond blocks and more than 54,000 TPS on devnet; FOGO went live the same day with an airdrop to about 22,300 users, after OKX opened spot trading on January 13 and Binance and MEXC followed. On August 28 the foundation was compromised and 400 million FOGO moved out, 4% of genesis supply and over 10% of circulating supply; the chain halted August 29, restarted September 2 after 237 million tokens were recovered and permanently burned, leaving 163 million unrecovered and the attack path still undisclosed. On September 26, 1.54 billion FOGO unlocked, 15.4% of supply and about $10.58 million at the announced price, nearly 40% of market cap, allocated to core contributors, investors and advisers.
Fogo hardens foundation key management and custody first, then restores market making and onboards institutional desks; the team says it will restart Flames incentives and widen the validator set, pitching sub-40ms blocks at onchain perps and order books.
Future strategy and roadmap: Fogo's priority is credibility, not throughput: on 29 August an attacker minted and stole about 400 million tokens, roughly 10% of supply, 237 million were recovered and burned while 163 million remain outstanding, and the foundation's ability to freeze addresses itself weakens the neutral-L1 story. Rebuilding has to happen in architecture — separating trading keys from treasury keys, MPC key splits and timelocks on treasury moves — not another post-mortem; commercially the Fogo Flywheel revenue-share ties ecosystem projects to validators, and roughly 40-millisecond blocks target onchain perpetuals and order books, but institutional market makers and wallet gateways will not return before trust does.
