Horizenについて
Horizen is a chain dating from 2017 that began with proof of work and a sidechain system, with a fixed supply of 21 million ZEN. The architecture now centers on zero-knowledge verification: Horizen runs as a Layer 3 that hands ordering and block production to specialized roles, while zkVerify acts as a general proof verification layer offering cheap proof checking to other chains and applications. ZEN staking opened on July 24 at roughly 8.1% annualized, with added revenue from L3 sequencers and zkVerify nodes.
Its position is zero-knowledge infrastructure rather than general computation: applications submit proofs to zkVerify, Horizen handles execution and ordering, and cost and throughput follow from that division of labor. Clients are rollups, bridges and privacy applications that need proofs verified across chains. A foundation filing states there is no buyback and no native burn, so ZEN captures value through sequencer demand and proof volume rather than supply reduction.

Horizen's 2026 progress ran through zkVerify and a rebuilt on-chain architecture. On 11 February zkVerify's mainnet passed 15 million zero-knowledge proofs verified and reached 17 million a week later, with daily volume steady at 50,000 to 100,000 proofs through integrations such as CallScan and verification costs more than 90% below general-purpose chains; the VFY token secures verifiers and settles batches.
Early in the year Horizen's team also worked with Everstake to strengthen its validator set and joined the Proof of Cloud alliance, tying hardware identity to verified physical location.
For Horizen, enterprise testing of the confidential execution environment is the 2026 priority, aiming at ten-thousand-plus verifications per second and sub-cent verification through recursive proof aggregation, with zkVerify positioned as the general verification layer sold to DeFi, identity and gaming chains.
