Kaiaについて
Kaia is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 formed by the merger of Klaytn and Finschia. It runs a Byzantine-fault-tolerant consensus in the Istanbul BFT family with roughly one-second blocks and supports fee delegation, so ordinary users do not need to hold the native token to transact. It targets payments, gaming and wallets in Korea and Japan: stablecoins are issued natively by locally regulated issuers, and merchants accept them through custodial addresses with batched settlement, bypassing correspondent banking. In May 2026 the yen stablecoin JPYC chose Kaia as the first additional chain for JPYC EX, and on-chain circulation passed 3.3 billion yen within a month.
The constraint is concentration: demand depends on regulators and a handful of issuers in two markets, activity clusters in payments and gaming, fee revenue has no second source, and the developer base stays regional, making it harder than on general-purpose chains to build an independent liquidity layer.

Listing: On October 9, 2026, South Korea's Upbit listed KAIA with KRW, BTC and USDT pairs, and the price briefly rose about 64% on the announcement.
Burn mechanism: On October 14, the Kaia DLT Foundation announced that starting October 21 it would burn undistributed rewards from the Contribution Reward program, with 4,905,146 KAIA from the first two settlement rounds permanently removed from circulation; the unallocated portion of the program's 2.5 million KAIA monthly budget will be burned rather than returned to the foundation. From the same date, the Japanese yen stablecoin JPYC became an eligible reward asset, with every $1 of stablecoin requiring 10 KAIA staked.
Stablecoin partnerships: In May, JPYC chose Kaia as the first additional supported chain for JPYC EX, and JPYC circulation on Kaia surpassed 3.3 billion yen within one month; on July 24, Kaia entered a business alliance with Japanese financial consultancy finoject; on September 11, it signed an MOU with payments provider Netstars to advance stablecoin payments across its network of roughly 700,000 merchants.
On September 30, 2026, the Kaia DLT Foundation signed a three-year commercial agreement with BTQ to deploy its Quantum Secure Stablecoin Network across Kaia. The design protects assets such as USDT, JPYC and IDRP at account level without changes from issuers or wallets, with LINE NEXT's Unifi wallet among the first beneficiaries; BTQ takes a share of fees from QSSN-secured activity, with first-year revenue expected in the six figures.
Kaia was formed by merging Kakao's Klaytn with LINE Tech Plus's Finschia, runs one-second blocks and up to 4,000 TPS, and Unifi sits inside LINE, which has about 196 million monthly users. The Kaia Wave programme has drawn more than 700 applications.
Future strategy and roadmap: Advance Korean-won and Japanese-yen stablecoin infrastructure, and expand the three-year quantum-safe stablecoin network QSSN (signed with BTQ) from USDT, JPYC and IDRP to more issuers, wallets and payment networks without requiring issuer or wallet changes. Using the Unifi wallet embedded in LINE with about 196 million monthly active users as a first beneficiary, and leveraging the 700-plus project applications already received by Kaia Wave, attract more stablecoin and payment apps, and support high-frequency micro-payments with 1-second blocks and 4,000 TPS.
