QRL is used for transaction fees and staking on its quantum-resistant chain, with issuance via exponentially decaying proof-of-work. Maximum supply is 105 million with no hidden additional issuance.

QRLについて
QRL (Quantum Resistant Ledger) is a Layer 1 that makes post-quantum signatures the basis of account and consensus security, with its mainnet launched in June 2018. Transactions are signed with XMSS, a hash-based scheme specified by the IETF in RFC 8391 and covered by NIST SP 800-208. Unlike chains relying on elliptic curves, its security assumptions rest only on hash functions, it supports reusable addresses, and it provides forward security.
Its signature scheme was fixed in the year the mainnet launched in 2018, ahead of the final NIST standards published in 2024. The mainnet uses proof-of-work with the RandomX algorithm, and ships desktop, mobile and web wallets plus Ledger hardware signing, qrl-cli and a gRPC interface. On 31 March 2026 the Zond testnet V2 went live using ML-DSA-87, the post-quantum signature specified in NIST FIPS 204, together with Hyperion, a quantum-resistant Solidity compiler that lets most Ethereum contracts port with minor changes; that month a Halborn audit found no vulnerabilities in its cryptography library. Larger signatures and stateful key management are the costs it accepts for that security.
Milestone: On March 31 QRL launched QRL 2.0 Testnet V2 with Ethereum-compatible smart contracts; the mainnet launch remains gated on full audit completion.
Audits & events: On August 4, Trail of Bits published its go-qrllib assessment with all 15 findings resolved; by October roughly 50% of the audit program was complete, and QRL spoke at IQT's Quantum + AI conference in New York on October 19-21.
QRL launched QRL 2.0 Testnet V2 on March 31, 2026, debuting the Hyperion smart-contract language and the QRVM execution environment and opening testnet staking. Halborn completed its cryptographic-library audit on April 3 with no vulnerabilities found, and Trail of Bits published its go-qrllib assessment on August 4 with all 15 findings resolved. In August the stack completed migration to 64-byte addresses at NIST Level 5 and the QRVM connector was sealed at v2.0.0; by early October audits and remediation stood at roughly 60%, with mainnet still gated on full audit completion.
After mainnet, QRL's plan covers a decentralized migration for 1.x holders, Vortex IDE support and developer incentives, followed by SLH-DSA (SPHINCS+), Layer 2 integrations and cross-chain bridges, plus migration of Ethereum ecosystem projects and institutional partnerships.
