AOについて
AO is a compute environment built on Arweave's permanent storage that aims to turn a storage chain into a layer that can run applications: each process runs independently, processes cooperate through a standard message format, and every computation log is written permanently to Arweave so anyone can replay and verify state. The network has routing, sequencing and execution units handling message relay, ordering and compute, with a supply of 21 million tokens and Bitcoin-style halvings. It targets the throughput ceiling of single-threaded smart contract chains.
Decoupling compute from storage means applications need not crowd one chain and processes scale horizontally on demand, at the cost of new complexity in messaging and data availability, with user experience depending on the scheduler. Mainnet started in February 2025 and three stages have since completed, with HyperBEAM replacing the legacy network during 2026 and the token trading on Gate from September with about 3.5 million in circulation. The ecosystem remains mostly infrastructure and AI agent experiments, with few consumer applications.

Mainnet upgrade: An August 3 official weekly said the LegacyNet transition was in its final stage, with token mints and swap settlement now confirmed by the Arweave network, and a new ~arweave-scheduler@1.0 enabling protocol-level native swaps between AR and AO with no oracles, custodians or bridges.
Market state: AO traded near $3.10 on October 20 with a market cap of about $19 million, 6.1 million of 21 million tokens circulating, 24-hour volume of only about $79,000 and a monthly decline of roughly 23%.
AO launched mainnet on February 9, 2026 with its native token becoming transferable at the same time; the token has a 21 million maximum supply, with 36% allocated to AR holders. In April 2026 AO introduced the Network Availability Staking Alpha (NASA) test program, letting Arweave node operators run HyperBEAM nodes to serve AO and Arweave gateways and earn AO rewards proportional to the gateway requests they serve
Future strategy and roadmap: As of July 2026 AO's total value locked surpassed $200 million, overtaking zkSync, Fantom, Scroll, Algorand, Filecoin and ICP to become the 28th largest DeFi protocol. The forward strategy pairs Arweave's permanent storage with AO's parallel compute as a 'decentralized cloud', advancing verifiable AI inference and the HyperBEAM node network to support on-chain autonomous agents and large-scale AI workloads.
